We develop, apply and teach a range of digital techniques for recording, analysing and visualizing artefacts, sites and landscapes.? BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 members are involved in a wide range of interdisciplinary research projects, and have links with?many other institutions and departments, nationally and internationally.

Group Overview

You can study archaeological computing as part of your undergraduate degree and we also offer specialist 1-year taught masters programmes - Spatial Technologies and Virtual Pasts .? We also have a dynamic and vibrant community of PhD students.? If you are interested in studying with us or would like to join our research community, please contact one of our staff to explore possibilities or arrange a visit.

Examples of our current research interests include:

Investigating the spatial organisation of prehistoric landscapes using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geophysics and new survey methods.
Visualizing artefacts and rock art using digital imaging techniques, such as Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI) and laser-scanning.
Integrating online ancient world resources using Linked Open Data (Semantic Web) technologies.
3D modelling and digital photogrammetry of buildings and large-scale structures.
Modelling economic flows in past societies using Network Analysis.
