Chrysoula Anastassopoulos is a postgraduate research student within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载. Chysoula is currently researching novel geotechnical design methods for offshore wind foundations as part of the activities of the Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies in Intelligent & Resilient Ocean Engineering (IROE).
Chrysoula's PhD research looks at improving the understanding of synthetic CPTs to enable their use in the geotechnical design of pile foundations for offshore wind turbines. The effect of both CPT profile resolution and noise on pile design will be assessed. Using these findings, an acceptable CPT profile complexity measure will be defined.
The supervisory team includes Jared Charles (Engng, FEPS), Susan Gourvenec (Engng, FEPS), Tim Henstock (OES, FELS) and Mark Vardy (SAND Geophysics).
The PhD is funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies in Intelligent & Resilient Ocean Engineering (IROE) and the BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 Marine and Maritime Institute (SMMI).
Chrysoula graduated from the University of BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 in July 2021 with a First Class Honours MEng degree in Civil Engineering. She began her PhD in September 2021.
