About the Scientific glassblowing workshop

Scientific glassblowing is used in research and development across industry, science, art and design.

BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 glassblowing workshop includes all the equipment needed to design and make scientific glassware. BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 work combines traditional hand techniques using lathes and torches.

As well as making glassware we also supply equipment to support teaching and research within the University.

Working with industry

We carry out commercial work for organisations in the UK and overseas. Recent clients include defence technology company, QinetiQ.

Technical specification

We make glassware using many types and grades of glass including:

  • borosilicate (Pyrex?)
  • quartz
