Throughout May we interviewed a number of internal candidates for the post of Faculty Operating Officer (FOO) for each of our eight new Faculties. Six out of the eight roles were subsequently appointed.

We are now re–advertising the remaining two FOO roles to the wider University community. The job description is available to view in the ‘current job opportunities’ section on Sussed. However? to summarise:

The FOO role will be both highly visible and critical to the effective delivery of services to the academic and student community.

The interview panel is looking for candidates who possess:

(1) Strong leadership skills

(2) Proven management of staff in a matrix structure

(3) The diplomacy to balance the potentially conflicting needs of the Faculty and the wider University

(4) The ability to deliver consistently via standardised processes and systems
