Following the announcement of the departure of the current Pro Vice–Chancellor (International) Professor Alistair Fitt? expressions of interest are sought from suitably experienced candidates from within the University.

The Pro–Vice-Chancellor (International) will provide institution–wide leadership in the internationalisation of the University in keeping with the priorities of the University Strategy. Working with and through other members of UEG? the PVC (International) will oversee the development and implementation of priority activities to foster international cooperation in research and education; support University activities to recruit the most capable international students to its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes; provide oversight of the quality of the international student experience; and grow opportunities for UK students to gain international experience. A short (1 A4 page) expression of interest, that summarises relevant experience and indicates future priorities for the internationalisation of the University, should be sent in confidence to Gavin Costigan (g.costigan@soton.ac.uk) no later than 25 February 2011.
