Many congratulations to our Professor Nicola Symonds and Dr Jie Yuan who have been elected Fellows of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
Nicola received the prestigious award following a distinguished career in air-accident investigation, and Jie for recognition of his outstanding research contributions to the field of dynamics and control to improve the reliability and resilience of complex aerospace systems.

As someone who is deeply passionate about celebrating the role of women in the workplace, I hope this inspires a new generation of young female students to see the incredible opportunities that a career in engineering can bring.”
Jie added: “Across the past decade, I have worked closely with industry to improve the reliability and resilience of sustainable aerospace systems. I am proud that much of my research has also been successfully translated into industrial applications within the aerospace sector.”
