Take part in university health research

Pioneering health research at our University is transforming healthcare.

There are several opportunities this month for staff and their families to take part in ground-breaking research studies that will improve treatments and care.

Fridge-free vaccine study

Future vaccines that can be stored at room temperature will help global health and the NHS.

Are you aged 18-55 and in good health? Get in touch to receive more information about a new tetanus-diphtheria vaccine study.

The study is taking place at the NIHR BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 Clinical Research Facility at BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 General Hospital, and led by the University’s Professor Saul Faust.

Help develop a multi-cancer detection blood test

If you are aged 18+ and have no history of cancer, you could help develop a new blood test.

The MODERNISED study, led by the University’s Professor Andy Davies, aims to develop a blood test to detect 10 types of cancer at its early stages, by measuring the body’s immune response to cancer development.

100 healthy volunteers are needed as control samples. To find out more and take part, please contact Beth Wedge at modernisedHV@uhs.nhs.uk.

Haemolysis in Neurological Disease (HIND) study

Are you healthy? Would you like to take part in research?

BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 researchers are using MRI brain scans and blood tests to study how changes in our blood affect brain health and might contribute to accelerated brain aging (‘neurodegeneration’).
