This full-day offsite event uses a combination of expert-led workshops and dedicated writing time to demystify writing for public audiences and help you build your external profile. You will end the day with a clearer idea of language, tone and approaches to use when writing for public audiences, plus a draft article for THE Campus, Times Higher Education’s online media platform for the whole HE community.
The event will be particularly useful if you are looking for opportunities to share practice and expertise, build your academic or professional profile, or connect with colleagues across the HE Sector.
The event will be held on Friday 13 June 2025, 09:30 – 16:00, at Careys Manor, Brockenhurst. Registration for this event will close on Friday 6 June 2025.
Sponsored by Professor Mark Spearing, VP Research & Enterprise, we will also be joined on the day by Eliza Compton, deputy editor of THE Campus. Eliza will be bringing more than 25 years’ experience as a journalist and sub-editor for the benefit of participants. Colleagues from CHEP and the UoS communications team will be on hand to help out with writer’s block, and there are plenty of breaks to recharge with refreshments!
There are up to 30 funded places available at this event, and it is open to all our academic, technical and professional services staff, regardless of career stage. Lunch and refreshments are provided.
