The Doctoral College invites staff and students to attend this year’s?Doctoral Research Showcase, which is taking place on Tuesday 17 June.

The Showcase will celebrate the fantastic work of our doctoral researchers through two events:?the live 3 Minute Thesis? final, and our Doctoral College Awards ceremony.

This year’s 3MT? Faculty Finalists are:

• Environmental & Life Sciences:?Rose Seneviratne (Psychology): ‘Pause, Breathe, Heal: A Mindful Mindset for the Young Adult Mental Health Crisis’
• Social Sciences:?Amruta Bagwe (Economics): ‘From Gaps to Gains: Empowering Indian Youth Workforce Through Skills Development’
• Medicine:?Liam Edgeway (Clinical and Experimental Sciences): ‘Metals in the Air we Breathe: The Inhalable Killers?’

At the event, Professor Chris Howls (Director of the Doctoral College)?will introduce each 3MT? contestant and their presentation, before announcing?the winners of this year’s competition.?Audience members will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite 3MT? presentation as part of the People’s Choice category.

After? the 3 Minute Thesis? final, Chris will announce the worthy winners of our Doctoral College Director’s and Research Awards.
