Professor Powrie works closely on reuse and sustainability projects with the Royal Academy of Engineering. He currently leads a new hub aimed at realising the health benefits of the transition to net zero transport.
Commenting on his award, Professor Powrie said: “I have worked with many colleagues, who have supported my endeavours, and I’d like to see this award as being as much for them as for me. Most people want to do what they can to make the world a better place – usually without any special recognition – so I feel hugely honoured and fortunate. I’m also very grateful for the consistent and unstinting support of friends and family, so the award is for them too.”

“I hope receiving this award will encourage people to also explore and use the fantastic political research being conducted by colleagues at the University of BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载, addressing democracy and its discontents.”
Professor Stoker has served as an advisor to many areas of UK government during his career and has a long history of service to local governance.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mark E. Smith said: “It is always a great pleasure to see colleagues recognised for their work and contributions to the wider community. I offer them my warmest congratulations.”
