Faraday Project complete – a milestone for our campus

The University is delighted to announce the successful completion of the Faraday Project – a major milestone in our ambitious Estates Master Plan that will deliver the most transformative facilities expansion in a generation.

Since its launch in 2023, the project has delivered the safe and carefully planned demolition of the former Faraday Tower and significant upgrades to critical campus infrastructure. These improvements were essential to support the University of BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载’s bold ambitions for the future – laying the groundwork, quite literally, for what’s to come.

The University would like to extend our sincere thanks to Wates, the contractor managing this project, whose professionalism and collaboration were instrumental in delivering this complex project. Without their hard work and expertise, we wouldn’t have the resilient, future-ready infrastructure now in place to support our next chapter.

This project has been a huge step forward in enabling the University’s long-term Estates Master Plan. It not only strengthens the backbone of our infrastructure but opens up new opportunities to create more sustainable and inspiring spaces for our community,” said Jason Pior, Director of Estates Development. “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone involved – especially Wates – for making this vision a reality.”

The Estates and Facilities Project Team would also like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff and students based in nearby buildings who worked alongside the project team throughout the works. Your patience, flexibility, and understanding – especially during the noisy phases of demolition – were vital to the smooth delivery of this project. We appreciate your cooperation and resilience in the face of disruption.

Looking ahead, the former tower site will be landscaped, creating a welcoming new green space on campus.

With the Faraday Project now complete, the University can begin to build on this momentum, turning plans into reality to deliver our vision of a sustainable, inclusive estate that meets the needs of our users and the wider community.
