A redesigned and smarter student app is set to launch this summer ahead of the 2025/2026 academic year.

What’s new

Students have said a more personalised app that works quickly and reliably to access information and services on the go is needed. We have been working hard to make this happen as a priority for the University.

At launch, the new app will offer seamless access, easy-to-use tools to simplify tasks such as accessing timetables and support services, and an engaging personalised design. The app will keep the existing recognised name: MyBOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载.

A fresh look and layout

The app now offers a vibrant, student-focused digital space that is more enjoyable, inclusive, and engaging to use.

The app prioritises customisability, personalisation and enhanced accessibility for all users. It meets the latest accessibility standards, while also ensuring the security and protection of user data in line with current data privacy regulations.

This was a key objective identified within the Digital Strategic Plan, to create a new student app to reduce fragmentation of information and improve personalisation for all students. The app has been designed and tested in collaboration with current students through our Student Co-Design Panel, as well as our Accessibility and Branding teams.

What’s included in the initial rollout this summer:

• Access to university email
• A dashboard displaying the day’s activities and upcoming events
• A calendar that displays lectures, assignments and personal events, including building and room numbers along with a link to the campus map
• A digital version of the student ID card, including date of birth (DOB)
• Ability to switch between Light and Dark theme
• Single sign-on allowing users to remain signed in for 30 days

We will continue to work on new features, which will be available in future updates.

Positive reactions

We’ve had some positive feedback so far from our student and staff testing panel:

• “A much better layout than the old app and I like how it doesn’t randomly log me out like the old one does.”
• “I think the DOB addition is great.”
• “It is easy to navigate, a lot more visually appealing than the old app and has a lot more information so I don’t have to check other websites I can access everything in one app.”
• “It will make it easier, particularly the easier access to events and the faster loading speeds.”

Who can use the app

• The app is primarily designed for our taught students to enhance their student experience.

?When is it available?

• The app will be available for download from the Google Play and Apple App Stores starting this summer.
• Users of the existing app will need to download the new app from the relevant app store.
• We will be sharing more information with staff and students over the coming months, so please keep a look out for more information

The current app, whilst always designed for students, has been used by some staff for a range of tasks.

The new app is focused on supporting our taught students, but the services are available on the go through alternative routes for staff and Postgraduate Research students.
