Ian Campton is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Mathematics Education within BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 Education School at the University of BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载.
He is involved with Initial Teacher Education and teaching mathematics education on the PGCE (Primary) programme. He also teaches on the undergraduate programme and is a dissertation supervisor on postgraduate and undergraduate programmes.
Ian is currently the Programme Lead for the PGCE (Primary) Programme.
Ian is mainly involved with Initial Teacher Education. He teaches on the PGCE (Primary) programme, leading on mathematics as well as teaching other curriculum subjects including music.
He also teaches a module on curriculum design on the undergraduate programme and is a dissertation supervisor for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Before joining BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 Education School, Ian was a primary school teacher for twenty years, teaching in a variety of primary and junior schools in Staffordshire, Portsmouth and Hampshire. Throughout this time, he maintained an interest in the teaching and learning of mathematics and was the mathematics co-ordinator in many of the schools in which he taught. As a senior leader, he was able to gain experience of school leadership and management. Having responsibilities for assessment and curriculum development provided a wealth of experience in school improvement. Consequently, he developed and maintained an interest in curriculum design and assessment.
