Amy is a PhD student based in BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 Education School at the University of BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载. Amy's research focuses on the cognitive processes in writing-to-learn. Her research was funded by the ESRC South Coast Doctoral Training Partnership (SCDTP). Amy collaborates with the Writing-Brain Laboratory led by Dr. Roberto Limongi at Brandon University (Canada).
Amy is also a co-organiser of the BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 ReproducibiliTea journal club.

Thesis title: Cognitive processes in writing-to-learn

Amy's research explores the cognitive processes in writing-to-learn from sources. Writing-to-learn is the idea that writing is not just a tool for communication, but that it can also facilitate learning. Amy's research explores the underlying cognitive processes responsible for discovery through writing in the context of source-based writing, using quantitative experimental methods.
Before starting her PhD, Amy completed her Bachelor's degree in BSc Education and Psychology at the University of BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 (2016-2019). From May - June 2023, Amy was a Visiting Research Student at the University of Western Ontario (Western University) in Canada.
Amy worked as an intern in the Evaluation Team at the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) from July 2023 - October 2023, as well as a (Senior) Policy Associate at Public Policy BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载 (UoS) from December 2021 - December 2023.
