Mr Laurence Russell is a PhD student in the EPSRCs CDT in Prosthetics and Orthotics as part of the Skin Sensing Research Group at the University of BOB体育登录网址_欧宝体育官网平台-APP|下载. He started this position in October 2021 and will be finishing in September 2025.
Laurence's PhD project is on a bioengineering evaluation of cervical collar design and fit as a risk factor for pressure ulcers.
Mr Laurence Russell completed an MEng in Mechanical Engineering with Biomechanics at the University of Sheffield in 2020. During this, Laurence developed an interest in the biomechanics of devices and the human body.
During his master's degree, Laurence joined Sheffield Bionics, a student lead group that worked on the design of an open-source 3D-printed bionic hand.
Laurence's master's project was on a mechanical model of a hand for vibration analysis of sports equipment. Through this, Laurence specialised in computational modelling.
